Offer to pay for it yourself. Tell him you'll take really good care of it. Then if he allows you to, prove it to him.
Don't argue with him about it though. If you get an attitude & argue & yell, the answer will stay the same. Talk calmly, make some valid points, and see if anything changes. fabulous11 answered Friday June 15 2007, 1:09 pm: ugh I'm going threw the same problem. Changing parents mind is hard. Mine finally told me i can when im 18, but thats like 2 years away. Try telling him you will get the money yourself so he doent have to pay. DONT Use the excuse 'everyone has it though' or something like that, bad idea. Dont beg either. Just calmly talk it out with him.
