yeah maybe try telling him youre gonna get ready at your friends house.. and then change into a different dress there. if you have a different one that you like then wear that. or borrow one from a friend. or try to make some money and buy a new one. you could probably even wear a skirt and a top. if your dad wont let you go to a salon.. then just cut it yourself, have a friend cut it, or wear it up.

or

you could explain all of this to your dad. tell him this is YOUR night, not his.

I feel very, very bad for you. Raise your own money & propose that you use your money for a salon to do your hair. As of your dress, take it to a friends house, put a cool sweater over it to hide some of it or just cut / add fabrics. Make it all your own. Look up dresses online and find some examples so you can re-do your dress. Add alot of accesories too & just look really good so people will focus on you, not your dress. You could also have your hair in a side ponytail curled hanging down the front of your dress to hide it a little bit.

Ask you dad to let you return the dress , if he says no , tell him that your not going. Things like that work for me i don't know if it will work for you.

I wouldn't suggest letting a " dad" cut hair , because i have a feeling things will just get worse , mabe ask a friend to cut it , or just do it yourself , either of them are better than letting your dad do it. As for curling it or anything , i wish i could help you out cause i can do some mad curl's but you could probably do them yourself if you had about an hour to spair.

i truly hope i helped. :]
