the "problem areas" of the body.

Question Posted Saturday June 9 2007, 12:44 am

my butt, thighs, and waist! im 13, and im not really fat or anything since i also have muscle.. but i weigh kinda alot.. but my mom said its just im black and we have heavier bones than white people. but still.. i've been slowly gaining weight. maybe its cause i havent been doing really any physical activity now since all sports are in the summer and i did basketball like in march and im doing health now instead of gym... which sucks. so my stomach has become a little bit.. er.. bigger, like it sticks out in the front i guess.. i hate it and i always try to suck in my stomach but i wanna be truly skinny so i dont have to do that. and my butt is big! my cousin said im lucky for having a big butt.. but its also hard when trying clothes on especially since most are made for white peoples phsysique (no offense). its like... a wide butt, lol. and my thighs look pretty big at times! i havent checked my weight but i last checked.. er.... around the beginning of the year and i weighed like 150 pounds and im only 5'4!eeek! i need help, what do i do to help myself? no i will not go bullemic or anorexic or whatever either, and im not doing it for peer pressure i just wanna look good. like give me exercises and other stuff i should do.. and i eat healthy foods cause my parents dont make anything else really.. so i barely eat out.. i last went to mcdonalds almost 2 years ago! so.. ya what do i do? thanks

Well although your problem seems imposible to answer, it's not. Here is my advice. I'm a 17 year old male and I live with 3 women, and they are all at different stages in life. One is 15 one is 19 and one is 40. I belive your going through, what I call, the squatty stage. Now don't write me off just yet. I know the title isn't that great, but let me explain. I've noticed that both of my sisters went through this stage a couple of times during puberty. First they squated out, then they grew a little taller, and became more womanly looking than before. Now, we are a white family, so I don't know if this just works for whites or blacks as well. (I;m not being racist at all). Also you might want to try walk/jogging when you get the chance. Eat more fruits instead of sweets. Example: Eat Rice Krispies with strawberries or bananas, instead of Fruity Pebbles. Eat more salads, and watch your salt intake. Thats pretty much all I know about teenage girls body adjustments and dieting. Oh and do situps, lots and lots of situps. There. That's pretty much all the advice that I think will help you. Remember, during puberty, so many things change about our bodies and mentality that it's kinda scary. But stick with it, your doing great. Well, hope this helps. :^)
