okay, i need someone that knows this stuff DECENTLY well. i have a test on friday, and my teacher has done a wonderful job preparing everyone cause no one understands anything!
i have several questions.
1.) how do you tell the difference between a gerund & a gerund phrase?
2.) how do you tell the difference between a participle & a participle phrase?
cause i know phrases have more than like 1 word, but if you had like:
working hard is often its own reward.
is WORKING the gerund or is WORKING HARD the gerund phrase?!
