Been wondering

Question Posted Monday June 4 2007, 9:14 pm

For once in my life, I have met my soulmate and we're getting married July 28th. The thing I've been wondering is my friend who is 18 well we've liked eachother for quite a while, but I know nothing will progress since he's such a sweet guy, I just think he needs to find someone his age. Even though we like eachother, I just can't go any further with him not just because I'm getting married but because I'm 25 and he's 18, and he's only a Junior in High School. I just want to be friends with him, but I don't know how to tell him because we'd went farther then we should have in the first place. So if anyone has any suggestions let me know please. Should I break off the friendship or keep it??

This is just my opinion, but I think you should break it off. I might be wrong, but it seems that from what you're saying, you might be tempted to go too far with this guy. If not, you don't know how he feels. What if being close to you as a friend is too much for him, and he can't get over you? I think it's only fair for both of you to get some distance between each other. You don't have to break your friendship for good, but just take it slowly. And talk about it with him! I could be way off base with everything I said above, but I do know that you won't solve anything if you never say anything. You said you don't know how to tell him, but you know how you feel about the situation, so just tell him that. Start with "I need to talk to you." and go from there. That's really the only way to save your friendship. :)
