DD answered Saturday June 2 2007, 9:40 pm: you swim, do CPR, and rescue breathing, as well, you do written and practical exams where they evaluate your knowledge on the topic of lifeguarding skills. You need too know everything about first aid, like "reds" and "warts" and what they stand for, how to treat broken limbs, and seizure victims, and heart attack victims, stroke, and all that.
ALSO
You have to swim a LOT of laps for endurance. And you have to get a brick from the bottom of the pool, about 10 - 12 feet deep or something.
GOOD LUCK [ DD's advice column | Ask DD A Question ]
BrittanyMegan answered Saturday June 2 2007, 9:40 pm: Well you have to get:
-certified in CPR
-you have to be able to swim[[haha. no brainer. they will give you a swimming test.]]--
youll have to tread.
youll have to probably swim back and fourth.(laps)
youll have to also be able to go down atleast 10ft or 12ft and pick up a 50 lb. weight. and whatever their swim test may also ask for. Depends on the people.
--you have to go through a class
--take a written test
--and if you go onthe American REd Cross web site it will tell you everything. GOOD LUCK.
and hope that you get your FURTURE JOB.
