I am 15/f.
There is this guy who I almost went out with... we hung out almost every weekend for months...then he went out with someone else and I got over him. We stayed friends. He just turned 18.
Yesterday I saw him at his graduation, and he asked me to hang out. It was already around 10, and he was going to be hanging out with a few other guys, and that he would take me home. I said, "I don't know..." because I felt it would be awkward with just me and his guy friends. (Not that we would do anything bad, at all.) He said, "It's ok if you don't want to."
So I didn't, and I kind of wish I did.
But anyways, i am going to have a boring weekend.
So should I ask him to hang out?

And tell him that DID want to hang out with him after the graduation, but it was getting late and you felt a little weird about hanging out with his guy friends. That way you're letting him know that it wasn't HIM you didnt want to hang out with, it was just the situation. [ Jeanne's advice column | Ask Jeanne A Question ]

it shouldn't be weird at all that you ask him to hang out since he asked you first.
