math is the absolute value of negative four ( |-4| ) four or something else?

|-4| = positive four. like the person underneath me stated, the absolute value of ANY number, positive or negative, is always positive.
however, if there is a negative sign in FRONT of the absolute value,
- | 4 |
then you would take the absolute value of it, being 4, and then multiply by -1
- | 4 | = (-1) 4 = - 4 ]
it's 4...the absolute value of any number...positive or negative is the positive integer ]
It is 4, because it is 4 away from the number 0 :] ]
