Calling/texting guys

Question Posted Thursday May 31 2007, 4:50 pm

So I have some guy friends, but not as much as girl friends. But I've noticed that all my friends who have guy friends always either call/text them. I only talk to my guy friends at school or online. Is that weird? Idk. Would it make me better friends with them if I called them or whatever? I just never thought it was really necessary until I saw that I have no guys' numbers in my cellphone lol. So like, how can I not awkwardly ask guys for their numbers, even ones I just wanna be friends with?

Well, if all your friends have guys' numbers, then the guys are obviously used to having girls ask for their numbers. So it shouldn't be awkward. Just take your phone out when you're around them and say, "Hey, what's your number?" If you're really too embarrassed to do that, you could ask your friends to give you some guys' numbers. Then just text the guy sometime and say "Hey this is [your name], what's up?" People(guys and girls) text me all the time like that, when they got my number from someone else, and I don't think its weird or anything. I'm just glad to hear from them. And yes, I think texting guys could make you better friends with them. Any time you can talk to someone, whether its in person, on the phone, texting or online, it can only help you get to know them better and make you closer.

well schools about to end...just be like...we should hang out this summer...give me your number and we'll keep in touch... and it's not weird to not call or text them or have lots of guys numbers in your phone...and by asking to hang out this summer your not showing special treatment to ones you like or ones you just wanna be friends with...it shows even interest.

It doesnt really matter. I have texted a few of my guys friends but i dont call them unless im making plans with them.

hmm, by getting there numbers, you could just ask be like i dont even have your number what is it. Or if there texting someone be like i never text you cause i dont have ur number what is it? If you guys are friends nothing would really be awkward. its only a number.
