Of course it will hurt - like most piercings, but afterwards it will be a big relief and then you have the healing to look forward to.
Just so you know, industrial piercings can be awkward to heal, so don't play with it or touch it without a very good reason to. It should be fine if you look after it well and try not to bang it, however.
I don't think taking pain killers before hand is necessary.. Infact, I think it's a bad idea. Taking anything which can thin your blood 24 hours before a piercing = bad (alcohol/some pills etc) and can cause you to be a bleeder in the piercing studio! and I can tell you that's not an enjoyable experience.
Your best bet is to talk to your piercer and tell them you're scared of the pain.
They could numb it for you or just give you that reassurance you need.
So don't worry. and I wish you a very happy piercing experience. :) [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]

The only thing that would help would be a local anesthetic and thats not offered. Ask your piercing artist if he knows of anything to take or use for pain follow his instructions and be sure to keep it clean so you will not get infection Good Luck :-) [ 228gurl's advice column | Ask 228gurl A Question ]
