If you feel like you have to take a drug to keep you awake, dry a less hardcore drug. Do an amphetamine (adhd medication-adderall, ritalin) instead. Take it 2 days prior to your finals.

LM answered Wednesday May 30 2007, 5:07 pm: Rest well, drink enough water, don't rely on sugar and caffeine to keep you awake for two weeks. Buuut, if you need to stay awake for an extra three hours to review your trig notes, an iced coffee isn't going to kill you, I promise.
The worst thing about finals is that they all come in the same week. Or in my case, two weeks [voc. shop finals are five days long]. Study a little each night, and RELAX! You've been doing this stuff all year. You know all of this! Plus, it'll be over in no time, and then
v a c a t i o n. :)
& p.s. meth could also ruin your life. I think the other columnist was kidding, but who knows. Try not to resort to such drastic measures, k? [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]
