I just got braces 2 weeks ago and i ate macas (mcdonalds) yesterday, my friends who have braces say that eating macas isnt good for you if you have braces... is this true? i mean how does mcdonalds effect the braces?

However, I'm sure that M-D's food has a bunch of preservatives etc. + more gross stuff in the composition of the food, so it's not exactly good for anything at all (I strongly suggest that you watch the movie "Super Size Me").
If the food did somehow have an impact on braces, it would have to have some high concentration of a corrosive substance... Eeew..!
So, you may eat M-D's with braces. Just keep in mind (as you probably already know) that coke, candy, etc. -as provided on the menu- does affect braces. [ honu22's advice column | Ask honu22 A Question ]

Catlovers141 answered Sunday May 27 2007, 7:15 pm: I don't think that this is true about McDonalds. The foods you have to stay away from are sticky foods, popcorn, and foods that are hard to chew. As long as you stay away from foods that are like that, you should be fine, no matter where they are coming from. Also remember to eat less sweets, although you don't have to cut them completely out. This might have been why your friends were talking about McDonalds, but it doesn't matter. Just make sure you brush your teeth well and the sugar in foods shouldn't affect you much.
