Today at work my friend Ginny (who is thin and 5 feet 6 inches tall) helped Sharon (a customer who is around 5 feet tall). Sharon told Ginny that Sharon liked the shoes Ginny is wearing and Ginny has big feet not small feet like Sharon due to the fact Sharon has to shop for shoes in the kids department. MY QUESTION: (1) SHOULD GINNY BE INSULTED; and (2) how can Ginny avoid personal conversations with Sharon?
Additional info, added Saturday May 26 2007, 11:15 am: I FORGOT to mention that Ginny takes a size 6 in shoes
NO SHARON NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT GINNYS CLOHTES - GINNYS FEAR IS SAYING THAT ONE DAY SHARON WILL AND THE other thing: another thing that bothers Ginny is that Sharon will turn around and say that Ginny wears big size clothes. AND GINNY IS A SIZE 6 IN CLOTHES. Want to answer more questions in the Relationships category? That's a compliment.
Since Sharon has small feet (NOT a good thing), "big" is a compliment. To her, people with big feet can buy nice adult shoes instead of shopping in the kids department.
Ginny needs to learn to deal with Sharon because Sharon is not doing anything wrong. Work isn't supposed to be easy.
Unless Ginny knows for a fact that Sharon says she wears big clothes (it sounds like she doesn't know for sure) she needs to calm down. Perhaps a size 6 is big to Sharon, it is to some people. For instance, a size 6 in expensive designer jeans is often quite large. However, in cheaper clothing a size 6 is small.
Bottom line: it doesn't matter what Sharon thinks. Ginny needs to know for herself that she is thin and doesn't have big feet. (Paris Hilton is a size 11 in shoes, so it's not like it matters.) [ xokristabelle's advice column | Ask xokristabelle A Question ]

Ginny could avoid personal conversations with Sharon by avioding her, if she's a customer then you don't really have to make a lot of conversation with her do you? Or you could get someone else to deal with her in future.
I think that you should probably ignore the comments about clothes size, if you know Ginny is a size 6, then you know that. Maybe cos Sharon is so small, they seem big to her? So she could be jealous of Ginny's thin figure?
Might be ideal for Ginny to stay clear of Sharon for a bit and don't answer any questions that she doesn't want to answer.
Also if it really bothers Ginny that much about the clothes size, then she should deffinately confront Sharon about it.

It's not the size, it's the style.
Ginny should not be insulted even if Sharon says she wears big sized clothes, because obviously Ginny is not big.
