cost?

Question Posted Sunday May 20 2007, 8:07 pm

Excluding prices for food and equipment and stuff, how much does it cost to purchase a Samoyed puppy? How much does it cost to get the puppy out of the shelter alone?

And for rescue puppies, how much do rescue puppies cost?

MODERNDURATION answered Sunday May 20 2007, 9:52 pm:
puppies can be very expensive the average price of any puppy is around $800.00 for a purebreed spayed/neutred one. I suggest getting one from a shelter which is usually half the price or this online site where my grandparents got their dog was good www.petfinder.com that is free they just come in and make sure you seem like fit owners.
Hope you get the dog you are looking for.

Most rescues are priced low to none.
If you go to a breeder, they can cost a couple hundred dollars.

Pro-shelter: If you adopt from a shelter, you're saving the animal from possibly being put down. Also you're giving it a friend as opposed to just staying as one of many animals being cared for. Shelter life is very unhappy for animals. He/She will be very grateful for saving him/her. Also, all medical problems will be known at the time of adoption. Most shelters will also spay or neuter them, and provide shots.

Pro-Breeder: You know that it is truely a pure bred. not that it matters entirely. A nice dog is a nice dog, unless you're going to dog shows. then it matters haha. but You also know the breeder's reputation, and you can get a list of any kind of genetic diseases that run in that particular pedigree. and You know that its not coming from an abusive or neglective household.

Con-Shelter: Kennel flu. other germs from being around so many animals. Also you don't know what kind of home they came from, so you don't know if they're afraid of a newspaper cause they used to be beaten with them. ect.

Con-Breeder: Some breeders breed their animals too much, this can cause serious defects to the puppies and parent animals. Some will rip you off too. big time. also they cost WAY too much, and normally haven't had all their shots yet.

hope I helped!
