Hiccups

Question Posted Saturday May 19 2007, 11:16 pm

Ok I get the hiccups every single day (I have been noticing this by the way) its very annoying. I really hate it. I think its because I eat so fast. I have had the hiccups every day it happens randomely and I cant stop this. What is wrong with me? Most people I know do not have this happening every freaking day of their life do they? So whats a good way to stop this? And how do I get rid of them? I dont know what is going on with me now. Its very weird.?

You said you're pretty sure it's because you eat so fast... so eat slower.

When you have the hiccups, try filling a large glass with warm water and sticking a butter knife (blade side up) in the glass. Then drink all the water -- either fast or slowly, but just don't take breaks. That's what my grandma taught me, and it always worked for me.

It's definitely not normal. It you have the hiccups for too long, it'll actually mess up the normal beat of your heart.

Personally, the pull on your tongue one works the best for me. The next best would be the sugar one.

If you think it's because you eat so fast-- eat slower, to start with.

Go to the doctor. You shouldn't have hiccups every day, and they can give you medicine to prevent it.

I stop hiccups by drinking water really fast, but everyone's different.
