ammo answered Saturday May 19 2007, 10:32 am: The phrase usually means to beat up or vanguish someone very thoroughly in a fight - generally to mean you will knock the person out or to ensure they lose conciousness or are in a state of daze (another phase that comes to mind here to signify this is, "the lights are on but no-one's home.")
