lost voice

Question Posted Monday May 14 2007, 6:38 pm

I lost my voice! agh... it totally sucks because my family kinda makes fun of me because i have to whisper when I talk. So far i'm taking medicine and drinking tea. Getting somewhat rest. is there anything else I can do to regain my voice?? I already missed 3 days of school and cannot afford to miss another day. I also was sick earlier with the flu and i went to the doctor about that, i don't think i should go again because last time was about 3 days ago.

Should i drink something hot or cold?
any medicine that DOES work?
what should i do??? thanks

Buy lemon juice, and honey

cup of water and add 2- 3 sips of lemon juice, and add honey, serve hot. The honey and the bitterness of the drink will take out whatever is stopping your voice, from coming out, i hope it works for you like it did for me

ok can you keep a secret!?!?!?!

a big weired family secret?!

lol this is what my mum does if i have anything that has to do with the flue, throat, mouth, nose, esophagus..... etc. lol u get the pic:

you'll need

ginger
honey
lemon
orange

combine them to make juice and boil them all together...... drink up when its still hot and within hours you'll start to feel better....

if that dsnt work i dont know what will...

oh btw! before you do that feel out whats happening if its itchy and you feel like you need something cold then you probably do your body knws best and it's probably telling you. but if you find that the cold is making it worse stop asap! its like scratching a mosquito bite ... feels good... leaves a mark!

get well soon! :))))))

MyHappyShoe answered Monday May 14 2007, 9:03 pm:
I am a singer, so I lose my voice ALL the time. Here is something my voice teacher told me to mix up to help:

mix crushed asprin (dissolve in the water), sea salt (dissolve in the lemon juice), and lemon juice with warm water. Next add a TINY bit of rubbing alcohol or peroxide.

Gargle 3 times 30 seconds each time.

Drink WARM tea or water, it relaxes the vocal cords.

Try to refrain from talking too much, it will just make it worse.

Hope that helped and good luck with your voice!!! :)
