this uhm guy...of course.

Question Posted Monday May 14 2007, 6:37 pm

Guys at my school are just weird. Like they're either too cocky [like ooh look at me] or to nerdy. I finally got the rep i wanted and i just know i'm going to loose it next year [high school] but anywho i recentlyy kinda started crushing on this guy but i've never really talked to him. He's cute but i don't really know him. --i'd really like to though. People say he's a jerk but i dunno i wanna find out myself i guess. Well, i think he thinks i'm a big humungo fake prep or something because the class i'm in i get realllly hyper... but it's just me. I'm not shy i would go up to him i just don't know what to say. The problem is; i went out with his friend for about a week. and apparantly he likes me again - i feel bad but i just don't like him like that. Now, i bet he thinks i'm a even bigger "prep" - sometimes i really hate that title but people who know me know i'm not like that. I think he overheard me talking to a friend about his friend liking me again...it slipped but i said he's got chicken legs and he's really annoying. Yes, i know its kind of weird. I guess the main question is how can i start a convo with him with out him thinking i major prep or a mess. or weird. i really kind of want to go out with him sometime or something. Help? thanks a lot!!

-arehjdklaf

p.s. i promise i'm not as big as a prep as it sounds..lol i'm a cheerleader but i just made it this year i'm just really hyper and outgoing a lot. --do guys really like that and what do they like in a girl???

The best thing to do is just say hi. No better way to strike up a conversation but with a hello. I'm sure he's not gonna look at you funny or leave you hanging. If he does, then he's the jerk people said he was & you shouldn't bother with him. If he doesn't like your opinion of his friend, then that's too bad. Opinions are opinions & you can't change them. I mean, you could be wrong, you could be right but it's what you think & you deserve a say. Everyone does.

For what guys like -- it depends on the guy. All guys like different things. Some guys like loud, hyper girls. Some guys like the shy, sweet girls who tend to be quiet. Some guys like girls inbetween those two. It all depends on the guy, so what one guy might like, another might hate.

I'd say just be careful when you talk to people. You never know who might hear. Also, try showing a calmer, sweeter side around him. Like you said, once people get to know you, they know you really are not a "prep". So once he gets to know you, he should see that too and be able to appreciate who you are. I'm sure you're fine being hyper, but he may not be into that. Some guys are and some guys aren't. It wouldn't really be fair to steriotype and say that all guys like a particular type of girl. I hope this helps!
