scrunching hair

Question Posted Sunday May 13 2007, 1:20 pm

when i try and scrunch my hair, i need to use a lot of hair spray to keep in curlyish. It looks nice but doesnt feel nice. My hair in naturally on the straight side and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what i could use that wont make my hair feel hard and strawy, but would still get my hair wavy. Thanks for any suggestions

You could use a diffuser- a tool that sticks over your blow-dryer that looks like there are little fingers stuck inside a bowl. Then just stick your hair in the bowl in large sections. Dry most of the way. Let it air dry the rest of the way and DON'T BRUSH until it is completely dry. Good Luck!

hey

definitely definitely try john frieda's frizzease dream curls curl perfector. i have naturally straight hair as well, and this stuff makes a bunch of little curls without making it hard! if it does get a little hard in places, just run your fingers through it and the curls WON'T come out. it brings out your hair's natural curl pattern. if i try to scrunch without it, i just get one big wave on either side of my face. but this stuff? just spritz & scrunch. and it stays.

try it.

Try washing your hair about an hour before you go to bed. Then towel dry it but not completely. Brush or comb it to get tangles out and rub in some mousse. Then take about two-inch sections and make a bun and use bobby pins or clips to keep them secure. Do it all over your head and then sleep in them and make sure taking them down is the last thing you do in the morning before leaving. Just take them down, and scrunch with your fingers.

This won't make tight curls, but if you want them smaller, just take smaller portions of your hair and make buns.

Hope this helps!

Try sleeping with braids?

Towel-dry freshly washed hair and apply a volumizing mousse. Comb through to make sure the mousse is evenly distributed. With your palms, gently push hair into waves, then clip waves into place. "This helps achieve a controlled wave with a finished, not frizzy, look," says Ted Giza, a stylist at the Avon Salon & Spa in New York City. Blow-dry with a diffuser attachment. When hair is dry, remove clips and separate waves with your fingers. Add extra gleam by smoothing two or three drops of shine serum over tresses. Do not brush hair after styling, or you'll wreck your waves.?
