why do they say you have to charge it every 2 - 8 hours? will something bad happen?

because after 8 hours bacteria builds up on the tampon, causing tss --> toxic shock syndrome.
but you can wear as many tampons as you like a day, not just 8 hours of tampons a day. just change it to a fresh one without bactiera

You have to change it because you can get TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome). If you leave it in for too long, you're making it an easier taks for it to get a bacterial infection. And so you should follow what the box says, choose lowest absorbency for your flow, and alternate between pads and tampons. Don't sleep with it in at night either. And I believe it's 4-8 hours. If you use too big of a size or change it too frequently, it's going to hurt because it's going to be dry.
