why is my period brown? i started my period about 5 months ago and this is the first time its brown? whats happening to me?

That happens to alot of girls. Sometimes it will be brown, sometimes it will be red. Always wash the area well, not hard, but well. It will help you have a healthier period. If you are really concerned about it, then get it checked out.

Brown is the color the menstrual fluid turns when it's old. Usually you get brown in either the beginning, when the uterine lining has been sitting there for a while and in the end when it's all shed and is ready to come out. It's just oxidation of the blood and tissue. Nothing to worry about.

Periods can often be brown, which is caused by your body cleaning itself out from your previous periods. Its nothing to be alarmed by. Its completely normal.
