Well, I finally decided to get off my butt and do something about my weight. I've always been fairly active, but since moving in with my boyfriend, I've gone up to around 200 pounds.
So I started the South Beach diet. I'm on my second day.
Thing is, I haven't been having cravings for food, but I have had some problems.
your problems you've been having could be part of adjusting to the new diet (even though its only been two days).
if i were you, i wouldn't be on this diet. you should buy this book called "The Diet for Teenagers only". its really good, and gives you the information you need to loose weight. look for it at borders, barnes and nobles, or any other book store.
really, all you need to do is eat healthy. yeah, the south beach diet does cut carbs, but carbs can actually be good for you. it just depends on where the carbs are coming from.

That explains the exhaustion and weakness. The constant hunger is also because of the carbs because carbs fill you up with fiber, which keeps you satisfied for long periods of time. A way to cure that is to eat protein (meat) if it fits into your day's worth of food. These things should only last 3 or 4 days, if that. If it goes on longer, that diet probably isn't for you.
I'm not quite sure about the depression, that's mental, but the irritability can be caused by all of the other symptoms messing you up. I know I was pretty pissy the first day of Atkins eating a mere 20 g of carbs the entire day.
