Instant Breakfast.

Question Posted Friday May 4 2007, 7:35 pm

I'm thinking about adding Instant Breakfast into my diet (its that protein drink).

if i added that to my diet plan, i was thinking of eating:
breakfast: instant breakfast w. bannana/apple
snack: Special K bar
lunch: turkey wrap/sandwhich with miracle whip and lettuce. applesauce. carrots. mini-ricecakes.
dinner: usually a Healthy Choice Dinner meal. or a Burger or whatever.

then i was thinking of working out around 4x a week for forty minutes.
what are some fun workouts i can do?

what kind of foods should i add or subtract to my diet to make it healthier? i kind of want to give the Instant breakfast a try.

What draws me in most is dinner. When people make a plan and they say "or whatever" it's an express ticket to failure. The Instant breakfast won't hurt, but the thing is- you aren't eating enough food in general, you aren't eating enough real wholesome nutritious foods and what you do eat there's too much carbs, not enough protein and a lot of sodium. Healthy Choice meals especially are loaded with sodium.

You need to eat real food- chicken, eggs, oatmeal, fruits and veggies that kind of thing.

Exercising is the easy/fun part. Nutrition is what makes or breaks you so try and get as much nutrition from whole foods as you can.

For breakfast, that would be a good plan, bananas contain healthy fats that you need.
For lunch, miracle whip isn't all that healthy. It has a gazillion calories in just one tablespoon. For the lunch, instead of real bread you should use soft taco shells. They actually make those for that specific purpose, but I can't remember what they're called. You should put peanut butter on the rice cakes. They'll give you energy until dinner time.
The snack: okay, special k bars say they're fat free but they contain calories that will turn into straight fat as soon as they enter your stomach. You should have celery with peanut butter or if you're craving soft junk food, try pretzels or a popcicle.
For dinner, healthy choice dinner meals probably won't fill you up and you may just end up hungry again before you go to bed and you could end up snacking. So you should try adding an apple to it.

As for the workout, you could try: biking, dancing, krumping (if you're not sure what it is, google it), etc.

If you need more help, my aunt is a nutritionist so I can help you plan more healthy meals.

hmmm... carrots are a starch, even though most people think of them as a veggie. If you substitute something else, like celery or cucumbers or something like that, its way less calories for a similar snack. ;)
Workout wise, ballroom dancing is really fun, and its great exercise. You can usually take classes through your local Parks& Rec, or YMCA. If there aren't any near you, you can get videos that take you through it step by step. :)
hope I helped!!
