don't like what i'm seeing

Question Posted Friday May 4 2007, 7:07 pm

i really don't like the side of one of my best friends, kim, ive seen this year. i believe she's always been like this, i just saw through her and figured it out this year since i've gotten maturer and smarter with that type of things. kim just shows through as a manipulative, lying, flat out mean person. not everyone sees through her act, but some do. i don't know what to do about it though, cause she's been one of my best friends (i have alot of other friends though) for awhile. any suggestions?

Actually im in the same situation and what i am doing now is basically not hanging out with her as much as i used to. If she comes to me and talks then ill be friendly but not like we used to be as in swapping secrets and stuff. I dont rely on her or anything i found a new reliable friend that i can trust and dont need those kinds of girls in my life. That just my experience, good luck with your decision!

Well, if she's a liar, she's a liar. That makes her double trouble for you, because if people KNOW she is a liar, and they know you associate with her, then they will either see you as someone who is just too dumb to know better, or as someone who likes and supports this kind of behavior.

Have her come in for a one-on-one chat. Let her know that you're seeing this kind of behavior in her. Give her plenty of examples. She may know she is doing this, but for some people, until you point it out to them they either don't know how bad it really is, or they don't know how much it affects the other people in their life.

Finally, let your friend know that such behavior is unacceptable. Give her the warning that if she doesn't shape up, you'll ship her out. She might tell you to buck off, but at least you will have been honest about it. In the end, that's more important, anyway.

I agree with Rob. You're already sick of her shit, so confront her about it & call her out. Tell her you're sick of the drama, & nonsense, and tell her you're not taking it anymore. If she gets mad, who gives a damn? You don't want her as your friend, so leave her by herself.

Then again, you could just stop being friends with her & let KARMA bite her in the ass.

Seriously, this friend of mine that used to work with me is like that. All you really need to do is distance yourself from her. Then, you can start calling out the bullshit she does. This will either make her realize that she's being dumb (but probably not), or she'll start to realize you're not taking her shit and she'll be done with you. Chances are you'll lose your friend, but honestly, do you really want friends like that?
