I think I have an eating disorder. I don't really show it, but I feel extremely guilty when I go over 1000-1200 calories. I'm 5'9 and 136 lbs. If I eat something after 7 [which Im doing now and Im stressing out] or just eat a lot in general, I freak out. My mind goes crazy when I think about food. I cant stand eating sometimes. What can I do? I think everything I eat will make me gain weight. I have a fear of getting fat, most likely because I was chubby in elementary/middle school. I think Im ok now, but probably need some work. Any ideas on how to not feel guilty about it? My parents are getting me a yogurt parfee. Those aren't bad are they? Should I feel guilty for eating that? I'm not sure. It makes things a lot more stressful. Does this sound like Anorexia to you? I do skip meals but not intensely. Any opinions? Thanks!
By the way, you are in no way overweight--I'm not sure how old you are, but it seems like right around a good weight for a teenage girl (which is what I'm assuming you are, sorry if that's wrong.) Here's a table of healthy BMI's (which stands for "Body Mass Index"): [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) (yours is 20.081.)
However, although I doubt you are anorexic or overweight, it sounds like you may have a problem. This could be a phase, but if it keeps troubling you after a couple weeks, you should talk to your parents about it. If it gets really serious, to the point it controls your life, you should see a doctor or a therapist.

Excercise for an hour a day. Look up on the net or get books on what types of food are healthy. [ xkatiex's advice column | Ask xkatiex A Question ]
christina answered Tuesday May 1 2007, 8:50 pm: You & anorexia? No. You & a really guilty conscience? Yes. You're just scared to gain your weight back, and that's fine. Everyone is scared of gaining or losing. My friend is extremely scared of doing either simply because if she does either, it'll be bad for her body. Her body can't handle a lot of weight, nor can it handle a little. She has to be just right.
Anyway, if you just eat healthy & drink lots of water you'll be fine. Don't eat junk food. Don't eat fast food. Don't drink soda. Don't eat munchies/sweets or candy. Don't even eat ice cream. Just stick to healthy foods like vegetables, fruit, dairy, meats & grain. Yogurt is good for you, but I doubt the parfee is. That's from McDonald's right? Things from there tend to be a little unhealthy, but I guess they tell you how much calories is in it now. If not, ask your mom if it's healthy. I know regular yogurt is healthy since it's a dairy product. For water, you should be drinking about 8 glasses a day, and drinking 4 glasses of milk a day.
Also, try to exercise. Walk around the block a few times, and then work yourself up to a jog. Do that for a while, and then try to work up to a run. Pace yourself so you don't get tired & stop, and bring a water bottle with you. That'll work tremendously because it'll keep you hydrated. If you don't like the invisible taste of water, get flavored water, or drink gatorade. Don't drink gatorade as a replaced drink for sodas because it's mainly to hydrate you while you do things like exercising, and that's all you should use it for. And stop skipping meals before you do give yourself an eating disorder. Good luck. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
LM answered Tuesday May 1 2007, 8:14 pm: I don't think you have anorexia. I think you're just worrying about gainig weight back. I'm the same way. Don't feel guilty about eating at ALL. eating after 7 is actually a good rule to follow, since you're less likely to get cramps from digesting and such.
Just stick to eating healthy, balanced meals. Incorporate exercise into your daily life, and drink plenty of water (since when you're dehydrated, you sometimes feel hungry). You'll start feeling better in no time.
