show me a sign
what does that mean when you ask God to show you a sign? i ask it to show me a sign of what should i do to understand my self. i see it as just happen just cause or maybe it was a sign....? did you ever ask for a sign and it showed and did it work?

My friend is really religious. She NEVER doubts. She's told me stories, and I'll tell them to you. One night, me and [Katy] were talking about religion. It was the first time that we REALLY opened up and understood each other. After we had our conversation, she told me that a few days before our talk, she asked God for a sign. The sign that He gave her was our talk. Another time, she liked this boy [Adam]. She thought Adam was good and nice. She asked God if he was right for her, and to give her a sign. A few days later, he posted a BAD bulletin on MySpace. That was the sign. It may be small things, but they have big meanings. Every now and then, she will pick a number 1-10. And say it's 1:52 right now. And say her number was 3. She will do 3 months from now, 3 days from now, 3 minutes from now. At that moment, she believes something will happen. AND IT DOES. [She can thank God for that.] She did that once, and at/near the time she picked, she held hands with a boy for the very first time. She's got faith. More faith than most people. I respect her.

Those who look for signs from God will find them everywhere. Those who don't believe in them will never see them. (I'm in the latter group, by the way.)
I would mistrust "Signs from God" for the reason that they are rarely easily interpreted. If you see something that you think is a Holy Sign, then consider that a dozen people might see the same thing and interpret it in a dozen different ways. Susan B. Anthony once made a wise remark:
"I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires."
When you see a sign, think carefully about whether it's only "telling" you what you want to hear. For instance, let's say that you ask God if you should get married, and then you see a wedding ring lying in the street. What could this mean? Perhaps you're meant to get married - after all, there is a wedding ring! But wait a moment; this wedding ring is in the street, being stepped on and kicked. How could that be a positive sign? Someone must have thrown it away, so they must have been pretty upset about their marriage. This must be a sign that you should NOT get married! On the other hand... and so on.
Maybe someone just had slippery fingers and the ring fell off, and God had nothing to do with it.
Maybe signs from God are real - maybe they're not. But if they are real, then they're also pretty useless on a practical level, unless they come with written instructions.

yes i am doing that right now in my life. It really works. But don't pray for self pity. Pray for God, Jesus, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. It really works. And one prayer that is so powerful to Mary is the Rosary!!!!!!!!!! Pray it everyday and you will uinderstand your task here on earth. I am a Traditional Roman Catholic. I def. know that the Rosary is one of the most powerful prayers. And somethimes you can do novenas. Once when i asked the Virgin Mary for a sign when i was praying... I saw the most buetiful statue of her. And she had a huge Rosary in her hands! I was saying the Rosary! Try it. It will really work. And don't pray because you FEEL like it. Evern if you don't FEEL like it, REALLY TRY TO MEDITATE ON ALL THE MYTERIES OF THE ROSARY. it REALLY HELPED ME UNDERSTAND EVERYTING THAT I ASKED OR WANTED TO KNOW.
