Question Posted Monday April 30 2007, 8:57 pm

Okay so I'm 13/f and I haven't gotten my period yet. My mom said she got hers when she was 13 too so she thinks I should get it soon. I've been getting a few pimples but not many like one or two.

Can anyone estimate the time I'll be getting it?

...yeah. I'm afraid I'll get it during school and it'll go through my pants and grrrr. D:

you should probably get it around the time your mom did. i wouldnt worry that much about getting it at school because the first time you get it.. its usually a really really light flow like maybe a few little dots of blood. but it definetly wont go through your pants or anything.

You still have a lot of time. There's no way to predict when it will come besides expecting it around the age your mother got it. Just be prepared for it to come. If you're scared you're going to get it during school, put an extra pair of pants & panties in your locker. Also, have some tampons and/or pads on you & in handy. In the meantime, enjoy not having while that time lasts. You're still pretty young, so don't worry; the only time you'd need to worry is if you didn't get by the time you were 17-18.

hey

well you probably will get it either this year or next year. no one can estimate the time you'll be getting it cause your body is different and it's completely unknown.

some symptoms of getting your period are, however, that the center of your nipple aches, like when you poke it (not like with a stick, just a light press). also, loss of appetite or over - sleeping could be signs that it's coming.

dont worry - just keep extra tampons and pads in your backpack so that if you get it, you can just go to your locker and get some tampons!

also, your school nurse should have pads and tampons, so if you feel like you're getting it, just tell your teacher you arent feeling well and need to go to the nurse.

i went to the doctor when i was about 12 and i was underweight. he told me that if i didnt get my period by the time i was 14 to go back in.

i didnt get my period until i was almost 14. august of '05 was when i got it. im 16 now, and its SO irregular. ive gotten it once since the beginning of '07. and that was in april.

i would say if you dont get it by 14-14.5, then call your doctor.

about the whole "getting it while you're at school" thing. just be prepared. keep pads or tampons with you in your bookbag or purse. you shouldnt have that problem, if youre prepared.
