My girlfriend and I would like to know why she smell so bad down there (her vagina). :/ It smells like fish. She says she showers and uses soap and I know cause most times Im with her. But yeah.... :/ We just would like to know why? And if we can change that...
Heart answered Monday April 30 2007, 7:25 pm: Don't douche! I'm not sure if scented wipes have the same effect, but douching destroys the natural balance of chemicals in the vagina and can make your unfortunate girlfriend more prone to cervical cancer later in life.
Some people just don't smell that nice. I mean, it's a vagina. They don't smell like sunshine and candy. If it's always smelled that way, I'd say don't make a big fuss of it. But do make sure it's not vaginal bacteriosis. [ Heart's advice column | Ask Heart A Question ]

Bucket answered Monday April 30 2007, 5:17 pm: Some girls just don't smell all that good, even if they're really religious about keeping it clean.
If the smell has always been there, it's probably not actually an infection, but she should go to the gynocologist and get it checked out anyway, and they'll be able to tell her.
In the meantime, she should try Summer's Eve wipes or another sort of feminine wipe, to keep it feeling (and hopefully smelling) more fresh. [ Bucket's advice column | Ask Bucket A Question ]
isis answered Monday April 30 2007, 4:58 pm: If there is a fishy smell, it could Bacterial Vaginosis. This is a really common thing to get and is easily cleared up with antibiotics. I have included a website that gives you more information.
lbwhite89 answered Monday April 30 2007, 3:51 pm: The smell is usually a hygiene thing, but since she's so certain that's not the problem, it could just be natural.
All girls have their own "aroma"...and some are just naturally unappealing. If that's the case, the only thing I can think of to fix that is those scented wipes. I don't think there's anything else that can be done.
It could also be an infection. Yeast infections and other kinds can cause a nasty odor. Infections are usually accompanied with some sort of abnormal discharge. Even if there's no discharge, it could still be an infection. She could see a doctor to check it out. [ lbwhite89's advice column | Ask lbwhite89 A Question ]
