I had 3 papers due in my class last week, on monday but I haven't been in class, becuase I couldn't face the teachers until the work was done. So I have a full week late paper, and I missed class on the third time becuase of a car accident. These papers are a pass/fail deal with ym teacher. What could I tell my teacher in order to keep my own dignity and their respect.
Something far worse happened with me a couple of years back - when teachers were even more strict and narrow-minded...I stole the math final exam sheet, photocopied it and gave it to everyone in class ('cept for the nerds, heh, i was evil). The morning of the exam, i couldn't take it anymore, so I went to the principal and confessed even though noone had been suspicious. He was very surprised and forgave me but i had to write a 4 page paper about "why i shouldn't steal stuff from the staff room..."
Think about it. Do you think your teachers will be angry if you go and tell them the truth? Maybe for a minute or something but it will go away. What's the worst that could happen? Having to write another paper like me? I don't this will cause you suspension or expulsion (spl?...) but it depends on your teacher whether he or she will make you 'pay for it' but definitely not suspension.

Ask them if there is something that can be done for make up but if not you understand. explain that you were a little embarrassed to show up with no work and when you were going to show up you got in an accident.
Dignity is facing up to reality and dealing with consequences. Apologize for wasting their time and tell them you will do better from now on and mean it. [ rick505's advice column | Ask rick505 A Question ]
