Okay i have a banquet to attend on thursday. It wll be catered but i am starting the 2468 diet tomorrow so i can only have 400 calories. how can i nicely say that i do not want to eat/
AskJR answered Saturday May 26 2007, 10:07 am: The 2468 diet is dangerous especially for teenagers.
It's too few calories which women need a minumum of 1200 per day. Teenagers need more than that because of growth.
If you eat 200 calories one day, 400 calories the next, 600 after that, and 800 for the last day, and the cycle repeats, don't you feel that's too far below the minumum?
The diet is used by most people who want to loose weight fast and who want to keep it off.
The purpose of it is to keep your metabolism burning high and fast, all the low calorie intake, It's hard on your metabolism to do that so drastically.
Of course, like every other diet exercise must still be included. On average a person who abides by 2468 should loose 10 lbs per month, and you can do that by eating healthy, cutting out fats and carbs. (Email me for dietary foods you will love)
But, to answer your question. Most banquets offers fresh raw veggie platters to select from. If so, eat that, and put a decent amount on your plate to appear you are enjoying the banquet, but you don't have to eat it all. Matter of fact, good etiquette is to always leave a small amount of foods on your plate not to appear like a hog.
If there aren't any fresh veggies, at least there should be salad to select. It's the salad dressing that's high in calories. [ AskJR's advice column | Ask AskJR A Question ]

If you are concerned about your weight or metabolism, exercise. Exercise is the healthiest, most effective way to lose weight. Dieting, unless you have the help of a professional dietician, won't work! Even if you do have the help of a professional, dieting without the help of exercise probably won't work anyway. I'm sure you're not large enough that your weight is a serious issue. All you really need to do is eat healthy food. Not more or less, just healthier. These days, people are so obsessed with losing weight, but they are also obsessed with finding quick easy solutions for everything. The two things just don't mix. There is no quick, easy solution for losing weight. Losing weight and keeping it off takes a lot of work and willpower, not a stupid diet. I don't mean to offend you, but you need to just get off your butt and exercise. Otherwise, you're just wasting your time. Don't be obsessed with calories, metabolism, and weight. Be obsessed about how you look and how you feel. No number can describe what you actually look like. Everyone is different. My guess is that you already look great. Forget dieting and start exercising to feel good. Make healthy eating a habit instead of a constant struggle with a ineffective diet. Start feeling good about yourself and this will be so much easier for you. If you don't like my answer and want the advice of a professional on this ask MikeCFT. Good luck. Brandi_S answered Tuesday April 24 2007, 8:28 pm: Since it is a banquet, and the purpose of a banquet is to eat, there isn't a nice way of saying you don't want to eat. Sorry.
You should really consider choosing a different diet fad. 400 calories a day is unhealthy, and skipping meals is even worse.
The diet you are on may help you lose weight, but when you go off of it, you will gain it all back and then some. This won't happen with a HEALTHY diet. [ Brandi_S's advice column | Ask Brandi_S A Question ]
