Hey!
You know its pretty funny, I explained this exact same thing to my friend two hours ago :P.
Most people dont realize that limewire makes your computer a) slower and b) virus...-y. (:P) I hav limewire, but I only use it when I want to download a song, I dont use it when I need to listen the songs I just transfer them on to windows media player. That way you can use MSN and windows at the same time. Like someone said, delete limewire and scan your comp, then you can reinstall limewire if you want and download more music. If you're using the free version of limewire, then the problem is you downloaded a song that wasnt licenced. It's really quite hard to find a liscened song out of the millions of songs they have actually, and thats why there are a lot of viruses added, but this will keep happening as long as you have limewire, (I mean keep using it) you can spend thirty bucks and buy a safer version, or you can do this non illegally and buy your music or rent it from a music library.
I hope that answers your question Love ya,
Angie91

As far as I know from my past experience with trojans and virii, they cannot be packed with any audio files such as mp3, wav or wmv files.

Firstly, I think they problem may lie in MSN as there are have been a lot of malicious little annoying programs running around being spread through MSN. Restart your pc and then make sure MSN is completed shut down (so that the MSN icon is not showing in the bottom corner). If you have it set to run with system startup remove this setting and then reboot. Once rebooted, start a *full* system scan with Norton (ensure Norton is fully up-to-date as well).

Once the scan is over hopefully it will have picked up the problems (they may well be spyware and not virii as such) but either way select to have them deleted. If they cannot be deleted you should be able to tell Norton to remove them at the next system startup.

Was Limewire a recent install for you or have you had it for a while? If it was a recent install havein uninstalled before starting the above and after uninstalled restart the system. Once Norton has done its thing you should redownload Limewire but ensure you do so only from a reliable source as the version sent to you or you downloaded may have been packed with spyware, which Norton picked up. I also use Limewire and when I was using Norton had this problem once too. I uninstalled and then reinstalled a different version and it worked fine. :]

Hope this all helps to fix the problem.

You have downloaded a song with a virus attatched to it.

Norton is telling you this, scan your computer using Norton and find the virus.

Then have Norton fix it and delete Limewire and reinstall if you wish.

I have all 3 of those things :P
just rid of the virus using Norton before it harms your computer more.
