HI, I'm not fat, my stomach is just a little chubby. If I cut back on sweets and drink more water and do at least 100 push ups a day and run at least 10 minutes around a track, will my stomach be flatter in 2 weeks?

ammo answered Tuesday April 17 2007, 10:49 pm: I think 2 weeks would be a very unrealistic time frame to work with. Although it does depend on each person it could take a little more than just 2 weeks and you must also bare in mind if you have not run that much before or done that many push ups a day before you are pushing your body into a routine way too rapidly when you should be easing it into the routine. Doing too much too quickly can just lead to you injuring yourself.
I suggest that for starters you do cut back on sweets, fizzy drinks and snacks. It will be hard but if you keep remembering why you are doing this, it will help you stay focus. As an alternative keep plenty of fruit close by. when you feel like a snack grab an apple or a banana or grapes, peaches, oranges... things like these will not only quench your snack urge but will also be a healthy alternative. If you are having difficulty with giving up fizzy drinks start slowly - give up all drinks that contain caffine (coke, pepsi etc) and instead stick to things like lemonade and then eventually drop that too. Just a little change like this will make a big difference and add to this a work out as you described and you'll be well on your way. Crunches are great for toning up and working on your stomach so try those but as I said above and with any exercises - start out slowly and then gradually you can progress and give yourself higher targets to reach for. Running is an excellent exercise but if you want to try something even better than try swimming. If you have access to a swimming pool swim a couple of laps every day. The swiming will work out every muscle in your body and will be great at helping you reach your target.
Good luck and I hope that I helped but just remember not to over do it. This will take time and I think the whole 2 weeks thing is being very unrealistic but I wish you luck regardless. Just take it easy. :] [ ammo's advice column | Ask ammo A Question ]

You can eat anything just eat the serving sizes and no more, you dont have to cut down to just water but if you want to go ahead other than that drink diet sodas. And at the least do 40 crunches a day or twice a day. It worked for me i went down 20 pounds in a month. Hope iv helped.
