Shut any exits to the room, if you have a bucket and a wide plank of wood bring them in. Lay a trail of his favourite food leading leading from the table over a little of the floor and up the plank. Put a good amount of soft bedding with a little more food in the bucket. ensure it's not too near the top though. Turn the lights off, leaving the room in darkness and leave the room. Wait a couple of hours or overnight. When you go back, the guinea pig should be safely trapped in the bucket and ready to go back into his cage. This should also work for other small pets.

good luck.
