Back Pain I woke up with really bad pain in my back. It took me around 2 hours to find a comfortable position to go back to sleep. Its a bit difficult to describe, but basically its a stabbing pain when I breathe in. It could be my lung, because I only get it when I breathe in or out. I tried doing a few things to narrow down the possibilities. If I breathe air in and hold it there, the pain stays. If I breathe air out and leave it, the pain is gone & there also isn't pain when I move around. So, it definately has to do with my breathing. It could be a muscle, but I think it would hurt if I moved around. I tried moving around without breathing & there was no pain, but as soon as I took a deep breath, the pain started again. Any idea what this could be? I've had it for over 12 hours. Should I go to the doctor or leave it alone? It is bearable but can get painful & irritating. Thanks!!

I get this a lot. It's usually a stressed muscle or it's a pulled one.
Sometimes the case may be that yuou slept on your back wrong. Or a cramp.
But if you have other symptoms, other than the pain in your back see a doctor.
Or,
If it persists and gets worse, see a doctor.

You probably just pulled a muscle without knowing it. Give it about a week, and if it still hurts then you should go to your doctor. ]
