How far is a mile in blocks? Like 5 blocks? I don't really know how far things are but can you give me about roughly how many blocks I'd have to run for a mile on the street?
hollister_lover09 answered Tuesday April 10 2007, 7:28 pm: it really depends on the block i guess. if you live in a city like new york or whatever, where the blocks are a good size, im guessing at least 6-7. maybe 8. but if your blocks are small, then i guess your going have to just guess. im not good at that either, but i know it really depends on the size/lenght of the blocks [ hollister_lover09's advice column | Ask hollister_lover09 A Question ]
orphans answered Tuesday April 10 2007, 7:28 pm: You can't really say how many blocks are in a mile because all blocks are different sizes. Wikipedia says that some blocks are 1/8 of a mile (so 8 blocks would be a mile) but you don't really have a way of knowing unless you measure. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
looloo12 answered Tuesday April 10 2007, 7:28 pm: Depends on the city. 12 is normal, but some cities with longer blocks can have 10-11 in a mile. But 12 is generally used as the average for a mile.
