using condoms my boyfriend and i have been having sex for over six months now, but it doesn't seem as pleasant when he uses a condom. Does anyone have any solutions as to other things we could use for protection instead?

If you can be sure that he's going to stay faithful (and you, too!), and if you are both tested negative for STDs, then you can start looking into other contraceptives.
The one I would recommend, and am on is Depo Provera, the injected contraceptive. It is 99.9% effective against pregnancy (condoms are only 98%). You get it once every 3 months, just a shot, and it keeps you baby-free (and period-free!!) for those 3 months. It's the most fool-proof method, also.
There's the oral contraceptive, or 'the pill'. That's about 99% effective, if taken properly. Unfortunately, lots of things can go wrong with it; if you're taking antibiotics, that can mess with the effectiveness, or if you throw up before you absorb it.
I would NOT recommend NuvaRing or Evra. Nuvaring is a flexible ring that you insert into your vagina and leave there for 3 weeks. I used it and it gave me terrible infections (blech). Evra, the patch, is a transdermal contraceptive. It works a lot like the nicotine patches. Problem is, it has a nasty tendency to fall off, and then it's rendered useless.
That's what I know based on my personal experiences.
Remember, though, that if you are concerned about STDs, then you should always use a condom. ]
there are many alternatives such as...
birth control pills- these will not only incredibly decrease the chances of pregnancy but reduce cramping during your period, and make your period lighter and shorter. you may feel bloated once you start taking the pill but that should reside over a period of time. Birth control can be 98% effective
diaphram- A diaphragm is a thin rubber dome with a springy and flexible rim, it kind of looks like a small rubber bowl. It is inserted into the vagina, deep enough where you don't feel it. A diaphragm holds spermicide in it which kills the sperm before it reaches your cervix, thus making pregnancy almost impossible. After intercourse, it should be left in place for 6-8 hours. Diaphragms are 94% effective
have fun ;) ]
you can now buy a huge variety of condoms. you get these ones with little dots on it, that increase pleasure for you AND him. you can buy so many dfferent condoms, im sure one of them is perfect for you. ]
There's nothing else you can use really. Unless you use the female condom, but it won't be so pleasant for you.
I mean, you can just not use one, but then possibly get an STD or get pregnant.
I can guarantee you rather it not be as pleasant rather than get an STD or have a baby. ]
there isn't really anything else out there. I mean, if you want an STD then don't use one at all. But i think you should just keep using them. At least until something else comes out. ]
