guinea pig my guinea pig (short haired, about 3 years old) has been shedding A LOT. i mean when i pet her a lot of hair comes off. she has dandruff too. No scabs or anything and i don't really notice any scratching. is this something to worry about? we live in Massachusetts if that has any importance. There are no bald spots, so could this just be from the weather?

This happens alot in the changing of seasons. In winter, animals get thicker fur to help them keep warm. They shed alot in the spring to get ready for summer so they don't cook on the sidewalk. It ain't nothin' to worry 'bout. seriously. ]
Animals always shed really bad around the start of spring. With my cat and rabbit hair is flies everywhere just petting them and your clothes are just covered with hair if you pick them up. Try giving her a bath (baby shampoo works really well..it smells great and it's tearless so you don't have to worry about getting it in her eyes) and then brush her when you're done. Also try to brush her around once a day to help get the hair off. hope i helped! ]
It's nothing to worry about because this is not just cat and dog shedding season it's every animal with fur shedding season. You might want to get dandruff shampoo for dogs for you guinea pig.
