my guinea pig (short haired, about 3 years old) has been shedding A LOT. i mean when i pet her a lot of hair comes off. she has dandruff too. No scabs or anything and i don't really notice any scratching. is this something to worry about? we live in Massachusetts if that has any importance. There are no bald spots, so could this just be from the weather?

With my cat and rabbit hair is flies everywhere just petting them and your clothes are just covered with hair if you pick them up. Try giving her a bath (baby shampoo works really well..it smells great and it's tearless so you don't have to worry about getting it in her eyes) and then brush her when you're done. Also try to brush her around once a day to help get the hair off. hope i helped! [ skippy_pebbles's advice column | Ask skippy_pebbles A Question ]
