Volleyball2150 answered Thursday April 5 2007, 7:51 pm: well for me... it takes about 2 hours for me to tan in about 80 degree weather. So for 65 degrees you might wanna stay out there for 3 hours.
Now hun, you DON'T have to stay out there for 3 hours straight. Maybe do 1 hour and then go inside for a cool lemonade and watch tv. then go back outside and do the same thing.
Oh and here's a tip that my brother gave me- when you are sun tanning, the sun rays go inside your skin and thats what makes you tanner. So after you are done tanning, wait at least a half an hour before showering because if you shower, it washes out all of the UV rays out and makes you less tan.
USE SUNSCREEN!!!!! I don't care if you think this is stupid, but seriously my friend one day went tanning and thought she would get tanner if she didn't put sunscreen on... WRONG! She got sunburnt soo badly and her skin started peeling off for a week. also it increases your risk of skin cancer and other skin conditions. so promise me that you will use sun screen?
also if you get some sun burns, use Aloe Vera, it helps the sun burn be less irratated and turns the red to brown.

it really depends on how tan you want to get, how long it takes your body to actually get a tan, how much sun tan lotion you're using...
but, assuming you're a normal person who tans normally, i'd say anywhere between 1-3 hours. i get tan prettttyy fast, so i usually stay out in the sun for an hour before i get SUPER tan. i dont use the lotion though.
just lay out there for like a few hours & read a book. or take a nap... but make sure you don't get burned :]
after about two hours, i'd ask my mom or sister or someone to tell me how much tanner i've gotten. if they are like -.- not much... then stay out there for one or two more. if they're like o.o then i'd go back inside :]
