straightner smoking

ok so i just got a straightner like a week ago and the third time i used it i was holding it shut and going down 1 section of my hair and i was going slow,so i look in the mirror and theres smoke coming from the straigtnr!!!!! i was like wtf!? do all straitners do that????? should i get a new 1 ?????

Don't straighten your hair if your hair isn't completely dry...or this will be your result. If your straightener is at it's medium heat setting & it's still steaming, return it back to the store & try another brand.

probally your hair was still wet or the heat settings were too high. it happens to me all the time.

straightners are already bad for your hair, so when it smokes, you need to wait for your hair to dry or lower it to decrease the damage.

your heat is probably on high and parts of your hair may still be wet, I do that a lot but it's really not good for your hair at all. Just make sure your hair is really dry before you straighten it and maybe turn the heat down a little.
