aim - spyware/viruses

does anyone know of aol instant messenger giving your computer spyware or viruses of any kind? thanks!

AIM and AOL are usually pretty reliable.
I know alot of people who have them and they have never gotten a virus from it. Its pretty darn safe

The messenger application itself won't. People can distribute files over AIM that will. Be careful who you accept files from and you'll be fine. And it won't hurt to have a good antivirus like avast( [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) )
