hey! hehe i don't know who you are, but i'm guessing Stephi? sorry if you're not

well hitting with a cupped hand actually risks a lot more damage than hitting regular. If you cup your hand when you hit, there might be a possible injury that you could hit the ball on your fingers and maybe break a finger.

so hitting with a cupped hand is definitely not good. some ways to get rid of this habit is try taking a volleyball into an open area (the gym, or your garage) and take the ball and just practice hitting the ball with a flat palm surface. It might be hard, but don't think about anything else. Just keep saying in your head "hit with a flat palm"

remember "practice makes perfect" take the volleyball and hit it into the ground, let it hit a wall and come back to you (without touching the ground)... then when it comes back to you, hit it into the ground again and just repeat.

Keep practicing and you'll get there. It just takes time. If you still can't get rid of hitting with a cupped hand, go to your coach... she/he will be able to help you.

I hope I helped!!
