You drink water not for nutrition as such, but rather because it is one of the most essential building blocks of the human body. Drinking the required amount is not so hard once you try to get used to it. The trick is to always have a water bottle around and sip from it. [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]

It doesn't GIVE you vitamins or protein, true. But our bodies are mostly water, and without it we die. Dehydration sucks, trust me. Imagine the worst headache ever, a killer stomachache, and cramps all over. Multiply that by thirty and you're close to what it feels like.
Plus, by not drinking water, your body won't be able to process vitamins, minerals, any food you take in. You won't absorb nutrients as well. At the very least, you'll get constipated.
