It depends how curly your hair is naturally. Chemical straightening gives you wonderful results which last for ages, but if you have naturally quite curly or frizzy hair the regrowth looks really really strange.
As for the damage it does to your hair, yes it does make it very dry but if you just keep up with regular deep conditioning treatments or use leave-in conditioner you should be fine, as long as your hair isn't too damaged already.
Also, if you have a friend who speaks fluent Korean or Chinese, head to your local Chinatown/Koreatown to get it done. It's a lot cheaper and they actually have more up-to-the-minute technology than US salons.

It really depends on the condition of your hair. The chemicals can be too strong and damage your hair like hell. You would need to go in to a salon and see your options for it.

It fries your hair, dries it out and it's unhealthy. If you previously dyed your hair or anything like that.. it's even worse. But if you are willing to condition your hair really well, it's good.

If your hair is slightly wavy then go buy a decent straightener. If it's actually curly, then consider getting it chemically straightened.

it looks like its stiff when you're standing still, but its really flowy and soft. you just gotta know how to handle it all.

hey.. i had mine done 2 years ago.. oh how i miss it. haha, anyway. yeah its really not good for your hair because its a lotta chemicals therefore a lotta damage, but if you want to do it, its so worth it for the straightness. and they put a lot of conditioner stuff in it so it doesnt look and feel so fried. honestly though yeah it really isnt good for your hair.

Hey! i really want my hair streightened too but its not so much of a good idea. All those chemicals can ruin your hair forever. I have really poofy and wavy hair and this is what i do: Karastace has this de-frizz oil and it's great. good luck!
