I get sick more than most people. When I went to the doctor the other day & we were talking about how many days I miss of school a year on average & I told him, all he had to say was, "Wow .. are you serious?" You wanna know how many days I miss? Sometimes it even gets up to 25! My mom says there's no way I can get in gifted & keep up with my school work since they give you more work the higher the grade you're in, so I'm starting to get worried. No one else in my family gets sick like me. I mean, I take all of those multi-vitamins & things for your immune system daily! I hardley eat any candy & over all, I eat pretty healthy. I had my tonsils out though, but it's not helping too much. Is there a reason that I continue getting sick all the time? What is wrong with me?
runawayxlove answered Tuesday March 20 2007, 5:10 pm: hey, well im not sure why your constantly sick. the reason for me answering this question is because i have some tips for you catching up on work while being sick. you can have your mom call and have the teachers get the books you need and get them and bring them home on the days that you miss school. another option is having a loyal and trustworthy friend go into your locker and get the books that you need. i`d go with the teachers doing it instead, because im sure that your not in all the same classes as your friend. create a "homework folder" for the work that you did even tho you were absent. when you go back to school, bring it with you and that way you`ll get caught up. also ask the teachers to give you any in class assignments that the students did without you. i missed i think 45 days last year...
i missed 19 in just ONE QUARTER
and yeah. sick days suck.
and those are just days i was there all day...not came in late//left early.
what is normally wrong with you?
my head hurts alot...(Advil...tylonal)
a lot of times my stomach is KILLING me (imodium or imodium AD)
my throat...cough drops...
now i dont take those a whole lot...normally i just sit through class which sucks; but sometimes you gotta do it.
i'm not sayin i dont miss a TON of class (like i said i missed 45 last year) but sometimes you gotta rough it...
now; some stuff that my doctor has told me and i've figured out on my own...
Stress. too much stress weakens the immune system. i dont know about you; but i get WAY stressed.
and it's a sucky cycle.
Get overwhelmed/stressed with school or whatever...you miss...get more work to make up...more stress...etc
so; get more organized and CALM DOWN.
i am still a stress FREAK...but if you chill out you will feel better...
next is sleep. I actually dont sleep all that much...but you have to keep it regulated. I usually fall asleep around 2 and im fine.
But if one night its 2:30...then 4...then 3...then 3:30...then back 2...i get all screwed up and my head hurts.
Also if im up that late i tend to eat...which can upset your stomach and get you to feel icky cause it doesnt digest...
(this is new and it helps me ALOT) drink as much water as you can. by bottles @ school. Drink water instead of milk at lunch. have your parents by bottled water and drink it. constantly. it keep you hydrated; and makes you pee. a lot. which will flush your system.
Stuff with your stomach/head could be from built up/left over stuff in your intestines (aka stuff you didnt poop out) so eat something like corn beef and caggage or laxatives even to clear your system out.
you might even want to take things to regulate that...
