Just wondering,
what does a physical with a 14 year old FEMALE consist of? Like is there any awkward things I should be aware of? I haven't got a physical since a year or two ago because I think I never got one last year because my mom was in the hospital at the time.

They'll do a physical as you remember them as a kid- check your heart, breathing, scoliosis check, blood pressure, look @ the eyes and ears, maybe a quick check of your skin. They'll talk about family history to check for any possible problems(usually with a parent in the room) and may schedule you for a blood test if necessary. Then ask about more personal stuff, like drugs, drinking, sex, etc. They'll likely ask you about your period & if you have bad cramps, stuff like that. You can ask your mom or dad to leave at any time- they don't have to be with you. And there's doctor-patient confidentiality, unless you admit that you're being abused or got assaulted- that's the only exception.
Sometime they may check "down there"- but only if you're comfortable. If you're not, you don't have to be, you could ask for a female doctor or be referred to a gynocologist.
Really, physicals aren't a big deal. They just make sure everything's in working order, and you get to wear those cool paper gowns! (I HATE those).
I bet if you ask, they'll still give you a sticker too. You're never too old for those!

Checking eyes, nose, ears, back of the throat, testing your reflexes(the knee kick thing) and then you had to bend over and have that test where they test for scoliosis(sp?). I don't think anything awkward. They might ask about your period and all that, but otherwise, I think you're okay. [ Annerszz_101's advice column | Ask Annerszz_101 A Question ]
