what do you care about most your image or your feelings on the paper? i stuffed my image long ago because i hate the hell outa people who "folow the crowd" like chavs wer s emos and goths (whatever all the same) i dont have a problem with because most of them aint ass holes but its freedom of expression that i like about them all your way of freeing your expression is in your pen were as mine lays on my skateboard i can do it myself and know one can tell me how to do it, it all comes down to individualality and if you like your peotry then your good why care if others not like it???

I'm a writer myself, so I'm here to answer your questions.

A. Don't worry about this, you won't sound or seem emo. Any poet and good writer knows this.

B. One thing that you have to learn is how to be critiqued, and take it. It's hard sometimes hearing some bad news about your writing, but it will help your progress, and become a better writer. I suggest letting your english teacher take a look at your writing, because she's a professional in that area. And she won't lie to you either, because she is your teacher.

The best thing you can do to not only find out if you're good or not, but to also be a better writer is to write. Write often, on a daily basis. Keep a journal or diary, and write in it daily. They can become really handy in situations, when writing.

Keep writing, and good luck with it! :)

The advice below is very good. I'd also recommend www.storywrite.com. It's a collective of writers who can post whatever work they want without being judged by people they know in person. Add me!

The only best way to tell if you're good or not if you show it to your language art teacher, or any English teacher you have, or one of your really close friends.

You shouldn't be ashamed on writing down your thoughts just because it will 'sound emo'. It's coming from you and what everyone else is saying, it's just an opionion. Not everyone will think it's emo.

If you would like, you can send me one of your poems or short stories. I'll let you know, if you don't mind. [Just drop it off at the INBOX]

Hope I helped.
