assistant?

Question Posted Friday March 16 2007, 9:52 pm

Is anyone here a lawyer or studying to become one? I want to be a lawyer and I was wondering if it was a good idea to work for one before graduating high school to gain some experience. Has anyone done this? And if so, how did you find the job and did it teach you anything? thanks! I'm a female and I am 16 in NJ.

My dad works in court, and he says it'll help you, it's great to look upon on your resume to work for one, also, I took a law class in school, do they they have that at your school?, You should check to see if they have one and if so, enroll in it for class next yr., It really teaches you all the definitions, what kind of cases you have to deal with, you learn more about the law and it's legal system, they sometimes bring a lawyer as a guest speaker, this really prepares you if you want to be a lawyer. Hope this helps!

heyy

my sister's in college and over the summer she's going to work for a company to gain "experience" so yeah it's definitely a really good idea. you can tell a bunch of people that you were an awesome lawyer's assistant and people would be more willing to hire you as a lawyer because you gained knowledge about what it's like being a lawyer, etc. (also great for your resumee)

i haven't ever been an assistant for a lawyer, but hopefully my answer above helped you?

:]
