The effects of chewing gum on calories is fairly neglible. However, a note of caution with this, particularly if it's on an empty stomach. Chewing causes stomach acid to increase in anticipation of food being received. If no food appears, the acid has nothing to work on and can, over time, start to react against the lining of the stomach causing ulcers.
So, if you are going to chew gum, always try to do this after eating. ]
Whenever you move it burns calories so this would do so if you're chewing more than the calories the gum is itself. if that makes sense. lol hope i helped. (:

Every muscle movement has the potential to burn calories, so if you're chewing for a long time it will. However this will be a negligable amount of calories burned. ]
