I suppose this is only an opinion, but I prefer short hair on a guy. And it's also what compliments the guy's face shape, so that plays into hand, too.

Most guys seem to prefer long hair because it's more feminine. But if you have short hair, then rock it. Because guys will like it too.
If short hair compliments your face then don't grow it out.
If you do have long hair, then get face framing layers.

it depends on which one compliments your face. i prefer long hair myself. there is a website you can go to www.clairol.com and upload a picture of yourself and see how many different hairstyles look on you. hope i could help. :)
