I`m sick and out of school, but i got my homework, and in my math class, i don't know how to do these. Could someone PLEASE describe in GREAT detail on how to do it? Please?

vivalajam0x answered Monday March 5 2007, 7:42 pm: Hey..we're doing this too, and I don't really get it much-but I do get it to the extent that I can answer your question.
Y=mx+b...So,
1/3 is the number IN FRONT OF the x.
So, it's M. M=slope.
6 is the y-intercept. It's the number at the end of the equation. [B=y-intercept]
If you still don't get it, feel free to IM me @ Viva La Jam Ox.
orphans answered Monday March 5 2007, 6:33 pm: M is the slope. B is the y-intercept.
So, you would put your point on [up 6]
and then go up one then 3 to the left, keep doing that then connect the dots. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
Heyman answered Monday March 5 2007, 6:32 pm: y=mx+b
m= slope
b= y-intercept
therefore
the slope is -1/3
and the y-intercept is 6
all you have to do is look at the equation. ha. sorry i didnt give great detail, but yeah that's how you figure that one out. [ Heyman's advice column | Ask Heyman A Question ]
